Our impact is measured not just in delivering day to day services to clients but in the longer-term impact on our communities, environment, suppliers and people. Our work maintains the places where we and our communities live, work and relax.

Specific examples of positive impacts that we make are:

Business Ethics

We ensure that we follow our core values of Trustworthy, Customer Centric and Dynamic and through following these values we aim to be fair in all business dealings with Clients, Tenants, Suppliers, within our own workforce and with local communities

Waste and Recycling

Through separation of waste streams at our stores and engagement with our recycling partner we are currently achieving 100% diversion from landfill for our skip waste.

Developing our staff

We undertake extensive training to ensure the safety of our staff including Asbestos Awareness, Risk Assessments and the Construction Skills Register.  Use of annual Personal Development Reviews and regular one to one meetings with Line Managers to assist in personal and professional development of all team members.

Apprenticeships

We work with local education providers to offer Apprentices the opportunity to work experience and training under the supervision of our skilled Engineers to provide a safe learning environment.  Our aim is to provide Apprentices with the skills to better equip them for future employment including the possibility of gaining the opportunity of a full contract with Choice Services following the completion of their Apprenticeship.

Materials procurement

Choice Services is committed to ethically sourcing materials with an emphasis on supporting local suppliers. Through the Choice Group we have signed up to the conditions of the Modern Slavery Act and all timber is acquired from FSC certified suppliers to ensure fairness to people and environmental sustainability throughout are supply chain.

Working with our supply chain partners we provide labour, materials and finances towards Community and Charitable initiatives to help provide a better living environment for our Tenants

Supplier payments

Choice Services is committed to making supply payments within the agreed time periods and contract terms.  By using an electronic invoice authorising system we are able to track payments throughout the process to ensure there are no unwarranted delays.

Technologies

Use of an integrated electronic works programming and management system which directly connects our Engineers mobile devices to the back office system, we are able to allocate  Engineers to  the nearest jobs thereby reducing travel times and our environmental impact.  By use of real time stock requisitions we are able to ensure our stores are fully replenished and specialist orders are made without delay.

Carbon Emissions

We are committed to minimising our Carbon footprint by methods such as the introduction of our works management IT system to minimise travel distance by allocating nearest engineer.  Through our stock management processes we aim to have our Engineers Vans stocked with relevant materials to increase the amount of first time fixes and reducing vehicle miles per job.

Recruitment

It is Choice Services’ belief that recruitment should always be through an open and honest process where fairness and equality are the key drivers to ensure a diverse and cohesive workforce.  All recruitment is made through public advertisements and the process adheres to equality and anti-discrimination best practice.

Team Performance

Both internal and external auditing is carried out throughout all aspects of the business to ensure the quality of works and suitability of processes.  Choice Services encourages all team members to be involved in decision making processes and to be confident in raising areas where performance could be improved
